Help Scottish Government understand more around publishing open data

Hi everyone,

As you’ll most likely know, we have a commitment around data and digital in Scotland’s current Open Government Action plan. This commitment aims to support government openness, transparency and empowerment through open data.

Commitment leads are running a number of public workshops, alongside offering a survey and one to one discussions in July, to support Scottish Government to understand more around publishing Open Data.

They’re looking to hear from the public, private and third sectors, academia, and the wider open data community.

Questions will include:

  • What does open data mean to you?
  • What has your open data journey been like so far?
  • What mutual support would have helped you on your data journey?
  • Why are these issues worth solving to increase the impact of open data?
  • How have you solved these issues?

:pushpin: Open Data workshops

The Scottish Government is working with fractals co-op and Open Data Services Co-operative to hold a series of workshops to help us understand the technical and operational issues that make publishing open data challenging for public services, and where there are successes in helping public services publish open data.

We would love to hear from public, private and third sectors, academia, and the wider open data community to help us identify how issues show up, how you navigate these issues, how they could be solved, and to understand what works well for you.

The workshops will be held remotely and numbers will be limited. As such, please sign up for one workshop only if you would like to attend as the content and structure will be repeated in each of them.

If you wish to attend one of the workshops, please click on the Eventbrite invitation. Further information on the workshops can be found in the Eventbrite invitation. Depending on interest, we may run further workshops.

If you can’t attend a workshop, or prefer to contribute in a different way, you can email hello@fractals.coop. You can ask for a survey or to be contacted for a one to one discussion.
