How can governments meaningfully, transparently and accountably involve the public in climate action?
We’re hosting an event in the Nordic Pavilion at COP26, with World Resources Institute and Ministers from Finland, Lithuania and Scotland, as well as participants from Scotland’s Climate Assembly. We’ll discuss why and how governments can better involve people in delivering Climate Action, including how Open Government can help.
Can I make a very strong plea that the Open Government Scotland action plan theme around climate is changed to climate and nature. Scottish Government, First Minister, Cab Sec Finance, COP26 world leaders, business, eNGOs and just about everyone else is seeing the agenda here about the twin crises of climate emergency and nature crisis.
While interlinked, the nature loss crisis is not a subset of the climate change agenda.
In order for the Scottish Open Government Action Plan to maintain credibility, and support, I would strongly urge the above change to be made. Thanks,
