Posting on behalf of Carole Ewart, Convener, Campaign for Freedom of Information in Scotland (CFoIS).
The next meeting of the Scottish Public Information Forum (SPIF) is online on 9th December 10-12 noon. The topic is reforming the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FoISA).
FoISA is now 20 years old and currently there are two consultations offering a different approach to reform: a consultation on updating FoISA is underway at the Scottish Parliament, proposed by Katy Clark MSP, which is open until 2nd February 2023; and on 29th November the Scottish Government announced its consultation offering a different approach and views are sought until 14th March 2023. SPIF will hear from speakers on specifics in the consultations and is open to all those interested in FoI rights and duties.
The agenda and registration details are available on the Campaign for Freedom of Information’s website at Scottish Public Information Forum – CFoIS.
