# Steering Committee Elections!

Dear Open Government Network,

_Are you an advocate for open government? Do you want to be on the Steering Committee of the Open Government Civil Society Network? Do you think you have what it takes to help drive open government in the UK?_

In January 2019 we will be holding the election for **five spaces on the UK OGN Steering Committee** and are starting the process for nominations and candidate applications. You will be an OGN Steering Committee member for two years, have the opportunity to help steer the Network’s strategy, and represent the Network with public officials and government ministers.

**Happy New Year!** 🎉

What are your resolutions and commitments for 2019?

**If you haven’t thought about it already, then how about [applying to become a member of the Steering Committee of the UK Open Government Network](https://goo.gl/forms/3DkpfRlnKmhlANuY2)! The deadline has now been extended to 14 January 2019!**

This year we will be implementing the new 2018-20 action plan (when it is finally launched in January) and developing a new strategy for the Network in February.
